Argentina (AR) — civil law.

Nothing on this page describes United States practice. There is no certificate sold to an investor, no administrative sale of land for unpaid tax, and no redemption window after a subasta judicial in Argentina. If you arrived carrying US assumptions, read falsos-amigos first.

Ushuaia — the municipal tasas layer

Tierra del Fuego has a live jurisdictional conflict over the urban property tax. The province enacted its own impuesto inmobiliario in 2016 and then suspended it, because Ushuaia, Río Grande and Tolhuin already charged one. For an urban parcel in Ushuaia the operating creditor today is therefore the Municipalidad. Provincial side: fisco-tierra-del-fuego and tierra-del-fuego. Layer overview: Municipios.

Retrieval status

On 2026-10-09 no Ushuaia tax ordinance was retrieved: the Boletín Oficial search on ushuaia.gob.ar is a form-driven archive of large scanned volumes, no Concejo Deliberante domain resolved, and the Superior Tribunal’s site refused connections. Every municipal figure below is needs_verification; what is verified is the provincial suspension, the judicial district and the payment channels.

The opening section is open to everyone. The procedure in detail — statutes, deadlines, who may bid, and what the record does not say — is behind a free account.

We ask for one because writing these from primary sources is slow work, and knowing who relies on it tells us which country to do next.
