Argentina (AR) — civil law.

Nothing on this page describes United States practice. There is no certificate sold to an investor, no administrative sale of land for unpaid tax, and no redemption window after a subasta judicial in Argentina. If you arrived carrying US assumptions, read falsos-amigos first.

Forced-sale channels beyond the court portals

The judicial portals (index) carry only part of Argentina’s forced sales. Every judicial auction must also be announced by edicto in an official gazette (for national courts, CPCCN art. 566), and the non-court channels have their own notice rules: a pledgee selling a possessory prenda must announce the sale ten days ahead “en el diario de publicaciones legales de la jurisdicción” (CCyC art. 2229); the Ley 24.441 mortgage creditor publishes for three days “en el diario oficial y en dos (2) diarios de gran circulación” (art. 57); a warrant sale is announced for at least ten days in two local newspapers (Ley 9.643 art. 17); customs announces rezago goods one day in the Boletín Oficial before selling them (Ley 25.603 art. 1). So the official gazettes are the widest net, and the national one exposes its judicial-auction rubro as a queryable list.

Verified on 2026-10-16: the national Boletín Oficial’s Segunda Sección lists “Remates judiciales” as rubro 3400 under “Edictos judiciales” (five notices that day); Buenos Aires, Santa Fe, Salta, La Rioja and Río Negro gazettes carry remates sections; Tucumán publishes its judiciary’s edictos through an open JSON API with an OpenAPI description; seven court-domain auction portals run on the same private software (Subastas Electrónicas / esubasta); and Banco Ciudad’s online auction platform sells, among other things, customs goods “por cuenta, orden y en nombre” of ARCA.

The opening section is open to everyone. The procedure in detail — statutes, deadlines, who may bid, and what the record does not say — is behind a free account.

We ask for one because writing these from primary sources is slow work, and knowing who relies on it tells us which country to do next.
