Argentina (AR) — civil law.
Nothing on this page describes United States practice. There is no certificate sold to an investor, no administrative sale of land for unpaid tax, and no redemption window after a
subasta judicialin Argentina. If you arrived carrying US assumptions, read falsos-amigos first.
Ley 24.240 — Defensa del Consumidor
Ley 24.240 is national substantive law. Its art. 65 declares it “de orden público”
and in force “en todo el territorio nacional”
(InfoLEG, texto actualizado).
Since 1 August 2015 it works together with the consumer-contract chapter of the
Código Civil y Comercial (CCyC arts. 1092–1122). The
statute does not create a separate procedure for collecting debts. It changes what a
creditor may claim, before which judge, and on the strength of which clauses. For this
wiki that matters most when a bank or finance company runs an
`ejecución hipotecaria` against a natural person who
borrowed to buy or keep a home.

The retrieved text carries no annotation from DNU 70/2023 or Ley 27.742 on arts. 1–3 or 36–37.

The opening section is open to everyone. The procedure in detail — statutes, deadlines, who may bid, and what the record does not say — is behind a free account.
We ask for one because writing these from primary sources is slow work, and knowing who relies on it tells us which country to do next.
