Argentina (AR) — civil law.

Nothing on this page describes United States practice. There is no certificate sold to an investor, no administrative sale of land for unpaid tax, and no redemption window after a subasta judicial in Argentina. If you arrived carrying US assumptions, read falsos-amigos first.

Colegio de Escribanos de Tucumán

Tucumán’s notariat is governed by Ley 5732, in the text consolidated with Leyes 6161 and 6380 that the colegio publishes (Ley Notarial, colesctuc.com). Art. 147: “El Colegio de Escribanos de Tucumán, persona de derecho público paraestatal, con sede en la ciudad de San Miguel de Tucumán, tiene a su cargo la fiscalización, disciplina, representación y gobierno institucional del notariado”. Art. 137: “La matrícula profesional estará a cargo del Colegio”, requiring a national university notary title, good conduct and identity; art. 149 inc. 4 makes the colegio keep the register. Its members are registry holders, adscriptos, colegiated notaries without registry and retired notaries (art. 136). Superintendence belongs to the Corte Suprema de Justicia, acting through the colegio (art. 195).

Source status

The law text was read on the colegio’s own site (consolidated text), not in the Boletín Oficial; sanction dates needs_verification.

The opening section is open to everyone. The procedure in detail — statutes, deadlines, who may bid, and what the record does not say — is behind a free account.

We ask for one because writing these from primary sources is slow work, and knowing who relies on it tells us which country to do next.
