Argentina (AR) — civil law.

Nothing on this page describes United States practice. There is no certificate sold to an investor, no administrative sale of land for unpaid tax, and no redemption window after a subasta judicial in Argentina. If you arrived carrying US assumptions, read falsos-amigos first.

Tribunal Superior de Justicia de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires

The highest court of the Poder Judicial de la Ciudad — first in the list of organs in art. 7 of Ley 7 (Juristeca consolidated text). Five judges, “que en ningún caso pueden ser todos del mismo sexo” (art. 22); decisions need at least three concurring votes (art. 26).

Read this before anything else on CABA: two court systems sit in one city.

Ley 7 art. 7 already lists City Cámaras and Juzgados “en lo Civil” and “en lo Comercial”, but civil and commercial jurisdiction has not been transferred: private executions and their auctions still run before the national courts (see CABA J0). So the TSJ CABA reaches a property auction only through the fiscal route.

The opening section is open to everyone. The procedure in detail — statutes, deadlines, who may bid, and what the record does not say — is behind a free account.

We ask for one because writing these from primary sources is slow work, and knowing who relies on it tells us which country to do next.
